Nostell win keeps pressure on top three
Jack Owen’s 9th goal of the season was enough to give Nostell Miners Welfare the victory in a tight game at Ollerton Town, and keep up the pressure on the top three, writes Ian Robinson.
Manager Jason Dodsworth was a happy man at the final whistle as his side won for the first time in three games, telling TBG “I was really pleased with how the team went about their business today, I thought we looked really solid all over the pitch and should have won by a bigger margin. It’s good to get 3 points and a clean sheet as we have thrown points away previously in games like this. Full credit to Ollerton who kept asking questions all through the second half, but we saw the game out well.”
Jason also took time out to praise one of the promising crop of Nostell youngsters who stepped up to first team duties, adding “Alex Haigh came in at full back from the Under 21’s and didn’t look out of place at all. He had a really good game.”
Nostell are next in action on Wednesday night when they entertain Handsworth Parramore in the League Cup.
