Stocks will have his game face on this Tuesday

Goole AFC head down the A1 on Tuesday evening for their Toolstation NCEL League Cup Third Round clash with Swallownest at Rotherham Road – and for home team Manager Jordan Stocks, it’s a chance to pit his wits against opponents from the Premier Division, writes Colin Muncie.

“Tomorrow we entertain Goole in the League Cup, a team ranked higher than ourselves so we see this as a chance to test ourselves,” Jordan explained. “We are coming off a good recent run of form, and hopefully we don’t have to come back from behind this time to get the win. We need to start from the off, so that’s the main concentration for us – so we will be going straight at it from minute one.”

“Hopefully having our Captain and Vice-Captain back in the squad will push that,” Jordan told us.
“The League Cup is a competition we want to do well in – and will take seriously.”

Assistant Manager Joel Evans added, “This is a perfect opportunity for lads to get valuable minutes who for reasons as injury, suspensions etc have not played as much as they would of liked. It’s also an opportunity for us to play with confidence freedom with us being classed as the underdogs as the league’s would say.

“However with it being the cup anything can happen and I hope it will be us going into the next round.”
