Eleventh-placed Shirebrook Town head to Worsborough Bridge Athletic sixth in Toolstation NCEL Division One, for a tricky looking encounter at Park Road tomorrow evening – and Shirebrook Joint Manager, Alan Widdowson has seen enough of his side’s battling qualities to believe that his players can get a positive result tomorrow, writes Colin Muncie.

“We know that this will be a very tough game as they are a physically big and strong side,” Alan told TBG. “We have to match those attributes to get anything from the game. We were outstanding with nine men on Saturday (at Dronfield) so we need the same effort and commitment. We were well on top with eleven men – so we know how well we are playing.”

The Briggers won the reverse fixture at Langwith Road in September, but it was close. “We lost narrowly at home – but played excellent stuff,” Alan recalled. “I hope the game is a good spectacle for this League as Saturday’s game was a farce due to the officials.”

“We move on, go there and look to put in a performance – and hopefully bring the points back to Shirebrook.”
