Having got their Toolstation NCEL Division One campaign well and truly back on track with seven points from their last three games, Dronfield Town are back on home soil this Saturday when AFC Emley (tenth) visit the HE Barnes Stadium for an attractive–looking match up – and Dronfield Manager, Chris Millington is looking to his players to repeat their fine display at Shirebrook Town last weekend, writes Colin Muncie.
Chris told TBG that Saturday’s visitors will contribute to an attractive watch. “We are looking forward to Saturday’s game against an Emley team who always look to play the right way and who had a good win at Worsbrough last Saturday,” he said. “We go in to the game unbeaten in three, and after a really good performance last Saturday at Shirebrook, which was probably our most complete performance of the season. This was pleasing – as our inconsistency in games had started to worry me a little.”
With no fixture since that win at Langwith Road, Chris feels that his players are ready for the Pewits clash – and he’s hopeful of getting back to full squad strength pretty soon. “We have had a good rest this week with no midweek games,” Chris acknowledged, “but the lads trained well on Tuesday, so preparation has gone as well as it could do. We have a couple of niggles still; but we are looking stronger and stronger each week when it comes to personnel.”
“We will look to get on the front foot again – being at home – but the challenge for the lads will be to perform for ninety minutes, as they did last Saturday.”
