Swallownest players are under no illusions of what is expected of them

Swallownest aim to put last week’s disappointing home defeat at the hands of Rossington Main behind them as they prepare to face East Yorkshire Carnegie on Saturday, writes Ian Robinson.

With Tuesday’s wash out against Shirebrook Town, the Swall management team spent time reflecting on the performance, as Assistant Manager Joel Evans explained. “We have spoken to the lads in preparation for Saturday’s game and the standards we expect and they are under no illusions of what is expected of them and then hopefully we can get a result. We know, like in every game, that Carnegie will be no easy test, so the lads will be prepared to go from the first whistle.”

Manager Jordan Stocks added late this morning, “After the disappointment of having Tuesdays game called off we go into our away fixture with EYC looking for the reaction from last Saturday’s defeat.

“We have a strong squad with everyone fighting for shirts, but the squad as a whole are together and we will need that not just Saturday but throughout the next 2/3 months when games come thick and fast.

“Looking at the league table regarding this game would say we are favourites but this league doesn’t work like that, for us to get anything we will have to be switched on, ready and energetic in our play, if not we will be travelling home disappointed.”
