View from both camps as Shirebrook host 4th-placed Nostell

Langwith Road is the venue for twelfth-placed Shirebrook Town’s Toolstation NCEL Division One clash with fourth-placed Nostell Miners Welfare on Saturday – and Town’s Joint Manager, Alan Widdowson feels that it’s time for his players to recover that winning feeling, writes Colin Muncie.

Alan told TBG, “we need a response from the lads after a lacklustre performance last Saturday. It will be a difficult game for us – but if we apply the right attitude from the off, we will get something from the game.”

“We need to bounce back from those three (consecutive) defeats – and we have a chance to do that at the weekend.”

Nostell’s impressive start sees them just two points off top spot in the table, and Joint Manager, Jason Dodsworth is anticipating a bit of a scrap at the end of their trip south. “We are expecting a hard game against a team who are normally hard to beat,” Jason admitted. “It’s never easy going away to Shirebrook; but we’re on a bit of a high at the minute and will be looking to get another three points on the board. It’s a really big pitch and with the bad weather now here, it’s going to be a battle of who wants it most.”

“It’s our job to make sure the lads are ready for this – and I’m more than sure that they will be.”
