HEATH: “We are aware that in any derby you have to match the other team’s energy, passion and take the big moments when they arrive!”

Knaresborough Town, fifth in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division, head to Station View tomorrow for a long-awaited local clash at nineteenth-placed Harrogate Railway Athletic – and Knaresborough’s player-coach Colin Heath makes the short trip knowing that he’ll be meeting up with a few familiar faces, writes Colin Muncie.

“We are really looking forward to our first competitive local derby for quite a few years,” Colin told us. “They are a club and team we have massive amounts of respect for. A lot of our players have played for them previously and some even came through their youth team. Likewise, they have players who have played for us, so let’s hope we can make it a good game and we get lots through the gate. That aside there is still a game to be played, and we are aware that in any derby you have to match the other team’s energy, passion and take the big moments when they arrive. The lads have trained well; it’s now about getting a positive reaction from last week and a good result.”

“As I said previously let’s hope for a good crowd and for both teams to put on a good display for them.”
