BARRETT: “We had a few square pegs in round holes but those lads did themselves proud!”

For the second time in a month, Grimsby Borough and AFC Emley shared the points, but this time there were no goals to report in a game which leaves Borough in second place, writes Ian Robinson.

Although disappointed not to take all three points, Manager Daniel Barrett was full of praise for both the opposition and his own under strength side, saying “Credit to Emley, they were hard to break down, but we had four key lads missing today through suspension, holiday and injury which cost us. We had a few square pegs in round holes but those lads did themselves proud. It’s another clean sheet and another point.”

Daniel had a final word on the match officials, telling TBG with his tongue firmly in his cheek “They were absolutely fantastic again, the best we have had, and it’s no coincidence that it was the same ones we had against Hallam a few weeks back.”

With that, he then left to keep an eye out for those aliens!
