EvoStik Premier Division East side Frickley Athletic have just announced their new manager by appointing Martin McIntosh as their new permanent first team manager.
A statement from the club says, “Martin will take over from the interim management team of John Stancliffe and Craig Spink with immediate effect.
Stan and Craig took temporary charge and stepped into the breach when Spencer left to join Sheffield Wednesday.
The club would like to place on record its thanks for the commitment that Stan and Spinky have given to the role, having taken over at short notice.”
Martin has most recently been manager at Ilkeston Town and they currently sit top of their league. Blues fans will remember Martin from his successful period as manager at Buxton.
Ryan McKnight said of the appointment: “Martin McIntosh is a great appointment for the club and one we are very excited about. His experience, local knowledge and desire for success are all great attributes that are now at home at Westfield Lane.
We’re very much looking forward to working together.
Craig has left his coaching role with the football club and we wish him all the best in his future endeavours. In respect to Stan, he is remaining in his role as Head of the Club’s Community Foundation.”
Ryan added “Stan is doing an incredible job with the Community Foundation and is a huge asset to the football club. The work him and his staff are doing is fantastic. Both Stan and Craig have contributed hugely in recent weeks and we thank them for their efforts.
“Martin’s first game in charge will be this Saturday at home vs Loughborough. We hope to see you there in good numbers to welcome Martin to the club.”
