Bridlington Town face Thackley on Saturday, where they will look to build on their previous two games (4-1 and 10-0 wins) and climb up to 3rd in the table, depending on other results, writes Mitchell Radford.
Thackley come into the game also in good form, only losing one game in the league in November, but their last game ended in a 0-3 defeat to Handsworth Parramore. So I’m sure they will be looking to collect all three points against Bridlington and move up the table. Thackley currently sit 17th in the league, but can move up to 14th a win on Saturday and they do have games in hand on the teams around them, so no need to panic just yet!
It is sure to be an intriguing match because as mentioned ‘Brid’ have scored a massive 14 goals in their last two games. They have made superb strides since manager Brett Agnew took over, sitting in 3rd (13 points behind 1st) but with a massive four games in hand, they could yet mount a title challenge.
Brett Agnew shared his views on the game earlier! “This game will be a lot tougher than people may think, I’ve played Thackley many times in the past and never had an easy game, this one will be no exception.
Pat likes to play his own style of football whether they are winning or losing and I admire that, I have the same attitude towards our team even when we are behind in games I ask them to still get on the ball and play our way.
It will be two weeks since our last game and I have every confidence in my players that they can blow the cobwebs off and collect another vital three points in this exciting league.
We have a full squad to choose from and tried out another few different drills at training to keep the lads mentally and physically sharp. Again there is teams round about us playing so points will be dropped somewhere and it is up to us to capitalize on that by beating a good Thackley side.”
