On Saturday, 2nd placed Grimsby Borough face 18th places Ollerton Town at home. Both teams needing a positive result for different reasons, Grimsby can reach the summit if a win is achieved. While Ollerton can gain those 3 important points to help in their relegation fight, Writes Mitchell Radford.
Grimsby Borough are coming into the game off the back of an unbeaten November period. Including fine wins over Winterton Rangers, and two improving sides in Rossington Main and Parkgate. In fact, Borough’s last defeat in a league game, came way back in September against Nostell MW.
Ollerton will have their work cut out in this game if they want to come away with maximum points. They only had the one win in November, but did come up against some very tough sides (Nostell MW, Hallam, Campion) who all sit 3rd, 7th and 1st respectively.
Grimsby Borough manager Daniel Barrett gave his thoughts on the game. “I’m expecting a much improved performance from us, especially at home hopefully it will be business as usual, which will lead us into the festive period nicely. Every game will be hard now especially with the poor weather that will inevitably be coming. We need to go on a good run!”
