HINDLEY: “I’m hopeful of fielding a very good 11 that should be able to compete at our level and beat anyone!”

After the 4-1 defeat to Shirebrook Town on Tuesday, Rossington manager Ryan Hindley will certainly be looking for an improvement in performance when East Yorkshire Carnegie come to town on Saturday, writes Mitchell Radford.

That was Rossington’s first defeat in four games as they picked up seven points from their previous nine available. The signs are showing that the ‘Main’ are improving as they start to mount a challenge on placing higher up the league.

New signings Jordan Hodder and Ant Wilson will certainly help with that. Two quality players, with right back Hodder impressing at previous club Worksop Town. Ant Wilson being a former EFL defender you’d expect Rossington will now be an improved force at the back.

Ryan Hindley aiming to prove ‘talk is cheap’ as he gave his thoughts on the game. “I’m hoping for a MASSIVE improvement, the only plus I can take is that when our left back finally arrived and we got him on the pitch we won the game 1-0. You can’t give four goals away in the manner we did. We will be in tomorrow and discussing the game and what we need to do better again EYC Saturday.

“The new signings will both be involved which is a massive boost, we also welcome back Alec Denton, Brad Billam and also Tim Whittaker which makes us much stronger.

“I’m hopeful of fielding a very good 11 that should be able to compete at our level and beat anyone.

“Talk is cheap, we need to be hard to beat and hopefully Saturday we can showcase a new look team a team full of men, and a team that won’t concede cheap and embarrassing goals.

“Let’s hope Rossington gave all our Christmas presents early and we can now get back to winning ways.

“Lads it’s over to you.”
