Hall Road Rangers go to Handsworth Parramore on Saturday looking for their first win in the league since October 6th where they beat Athersley Rec 4-1, writes Mitchell Radford.
Since that defeat, Hall Road have picked up only two points and find themselves in a relegation fight in 18th place – five points off the relegation zone.
Despite being one of the early title favourites in pre-season, Handsworth find themselves currently in 9th position. After having a change of manager fairly recently, the ‘Parras’ are starting to look up the table. They have won their last two games against Knaresborough and Thackley (1-0 and 0-3) respectively.
Not all is lost just yet for Parramore as a win here could see them move up into 3rd, approaching Christmas time. They also do have a few games in hand on some of the teams around them.
Bill Gill Hall Road manager is ‘looking forward’ to the game and gave us his thoughts! “After a weeks rest we are very much looking forward to this weekend.
We have managed to get most players back training with the squad this week which is the first time this season.
We also have a new signing which we are trying to get signed up for this one. Handsworth have turned a corner since the new management team have taken over and it’s evident they are defensively much improved with two clean sheets in recent outings.
We have four games left in 2018 and we have all sat down and been realistic with our targets so we have expectations which we need to meet to take us into 2019.”
