Ogi hoping pressure on players will work!

It’s 15th vs 19th on Saturday when Harrogate Railway face Athersley Rec. Harrogate are desperate for points as they currently occupy one of the relegation places with seven points from their 18 games, writes Mitchell Radford.

Although saying that, Athersley are also in need of a win. They did help their cause in November picking up seven points from their four league games. With Goole AFC who sit bottom of the Premier Division, Athersley’s next game this is a real chance for ‘Rec’ to improve their position and stave off relegation.

Craig Ogi Harrogate Railway manager hopes putting his players under ‘pressure’ could work wonders on Saturday! “I’m looking at Saturday as the day where we can hopefully move on from last weeks horror show. The lads didn’t turn up last week so for the first time all season they owe themselves a performance this week. Not once this season have I put any pressure on the lads for a performance but I am this week.

“I want us to get back doing what we know we can do and what we’ve done for 90% of the season so far which is play our own game. To sound crazy. I honestly don’t care about the result but the performance and reaction to last week is massive!

“Athersley will be a good side, they are an established side in the NCEL Prem now and these types of games are always tough and we have to be ready for that.”
