Herrick delighted to get one over rivals in Senior Cup

Bottesford Town moved through to the Semi-Final stage of the Lincolnshire Senior Trophy last night, beating local rivals Barton Town 2-0 at the Birkdale Stadium; and Poacher – turned -goalkeeper, Leigh Herrick was pleased to put one over on the guys from Marsh Lane, writes Colin Muncie.

Watched by an Ontario Road crowd of 54, Jack Bowskin (20 minutes) and Jack Cross (54 minutes) settled the tie in the home side’s favour.

Leigh told the Bootiful Game, “we are happy to progress in the Cup and last night was exactly what we expected – a typical standard derby game, high-paced, physical and feisty. But that’s another one ticked off – and now we move on to Penistone away on Saturday.”
