Hellewell isn’t expecting an easy evening

Sixth-placed Winterton Rangers head to East Yorkshire Carnegie tonight in Toolstation NCEL Division One – and Caretaker Manager Scott Hellewell isn’t expecting an easy evening, writes Colin Muncie.

“The game tonight is going to be a good physical battle,” Scott told TBG. “I’ve played against teams managed by Leon (Sewell, EYC Manager) before and I know they won’t give us a minute tonight.”

Reflecting on the recent changes at West Street, Scott is diplomatic, preferring to move on to tonight’s clash. “Over the past few days the club has come under a bit of scrutiny with the sacking of Rob (Watson). I’m not going to comment on any of it as I feel it’s best left now; people have their own opinions on the matter and that’s always going to be the case in football.

I would like to thank Rob for the opportunity of working under him and, on behalf of all the players, we wish him well in his next move.”

“But tonight, it’s back down to the business of trying to win a football match.”
