DODSWORTH is hoping to unwrap a seasonal three points at Winterton!

Just four more sleeps before Nostell Welfare Joint Manager, Jason Dodsworth eagerly rips the wrapping from his Christmas presents – if he’s been a good boy, that is; but in just one sleeps time, Jason is hoping to unwrap a seasonal three points before his side head home from West Street in Scunthorpe. To grab that precious prize, however, Nostell (7th) will have to overcome fourth-placed Winterton Rangers on their home patch. It’s been a turbulent week since Rangers defeat at Swallownest last weekend – but Jason is putting all that to one side as he prepares his squad for a tough assignment, writes Colin Muncie.

“We are looking forward to what should be a cracking game,” Jason told TBG. “There’s obviously been some strange goings on at Winterton – but I am sure they are going to want to impress whoever is in charge; but all that will be in our minds is to go and get the three points. The lads worked really hard on Tuesday in training and they are raring to go on Saturday, and we have another new addition to the squad which will give us more options.”

It’s a busy and potentially season-defining period for the NCEL in general and Nostell in particular; something Jason knows only too well. “There’s some big games coming up over the next month with the teams at the top,” he warned, “so we need to make sure we are on top of our game, and give ourselves a good chance to be in the mix come the end of the season.”
