HELLEWELL: “If we want to have a successful season then we have to play like that [Nostell] every week!

New Winterton Rangers Manager Scott Hellewell got off to a flying start last week as his side moved back into second place in Division One after beating Nostell MW 2-0 in his first game in charge, writes Ian Robinson.

However, ahead of Saturday’s clash with East Yorkshire Carnegie, his thoughts are very much on the reverse fixture from the week before which ended all square with Rangers fortunate to take a point.

“On the back of last Saturday’s win, the lads will be buzzing to get back out there, but having played EYC a week and a half ago, we know we need to be right at it from the off, as they caused us big problems then and we were probably lucky to get a point.

“Our performance against Nostell was a million times better, and if we want to have a successful season then we have to play like that every week.
We have players coming back into the squad so we have a few headaches on Saturday, but they’re good headaches to have especially after how short on numbers we’ve been recently.”
