For Worsbrough Bridge Athletic to achieve Manager, Lee Morris’s objective of a deserved top six place in Toolstation NCEL Division One at the turn of the year, they’ll have to match whatever result Nostell Miners Welfare muster this weekend. Nostell welcome in-form Hallam to the Welfare Ground; but for the Briggers, it’s an equally challenging visit to Swallownest on Saturday – and Lee has been keeping a close eye on the Rotherham Road side’s fine run of recent form, writes Colin Muncie.
“I’m under no illusions about the size of the task we have in front of us on Saturday,” Lee admitted. “Swallownest are a very tough team, and just looking at their results over the last four weeks – with Campion, Shirebrook, Winterton and Selby all failing to win against them – shows how tough Saturday is going to be.”
Lee is hoping that his side’s performance will better their last outing at home, when they came from behind to grab a point against FC Bolsover. “We are going to have to be at our best – which we certainly weren’t last time out,” he warned, “so I will be looking for reaction on Saturday. If we are to be up there come May, we need to start being more consistent – and hopefully that starts on Saturday!”
