Widdowson is both wary of the improving Bolsover & is anxious his own players impose themselves on them!

It’s the Langwith Road derby this weekend as Shirebrook Town (eleventh in Toolstation NCEL Division One) ‘welcome’ bottom club FC Bolsover for what’s sure to be a feisty afternoon – and Shirebrook’s Joint Manager, Alan Widdowson is both wary of the improving visitors and anxious that his own players impose themselves on Matt Chatfield’s team, writes Colin Muncie.

“We end the year with a home game against FC Bolsover,” Alan told TBG. “We need to keep the momentum going as we know this will be a very tough game against a side that is improving rapidly without getting the rewards. We have to believe in ourselves more – and be more clinical when the chances come. If we attack with pace as we have against previous team’s we will cause them problems; and if we carry on defending like we have – we have been outstanding – then it will be very difficult for Bolsover to get anything from the game.”

“It’s up to us how we apply ourselves on Saturday,” Alan insisted. “If we do the right things in the right areas, I’m sure we will get our rewards.”
