Herrick reflects on 2018 ahead of tough test!

10th placed Bottesford Town hope to get back to winning ways at Harrogate Railway Athletic tomorrow following a rare defeat last time out against Hemsworth MW, writes Ian Robinson.

Assistant Manager Leigh Herrick knows a good result is imperative if The Poachers are to start climbing back up the league table where he feels they belong.

“Saturday is a massive game for us. We are more than happy with the group we have but after the disappointment of last week, we’re looking at bouncing back with a certain type of performance from individuals and collectively as a team. We don’t want to sit around in mid table and our last game of 2018 has to act as a springboard in to 2019. As a group, the Gaffa, myself, the players and the Committee, we’ve got to be pushing for the highest points and league position possible.

“We’ve collected 65 points at 1.97 points a game through 37 games in 2018 so now we want another 3 to finish off what can be considered a good year for us.”
