Hindley rallies the troops ahead of Donny derby!

Rossington Main Manager Ryan Hindley had a Christmas message for the Rosso faithful when he spoke to TBG and it was a very positive message that he wanted to get across, starting with the news that the signing of Jordan Buckham from tomorrow’s opponents Armthorpe Welfare completes his squad re-building programme.

“I’m putting my faith in this squad now until the end of the season. The front four I have now have over 50 goals between them this season in all competitions. We also have good competition now in all areas, this isn’t the finished article, but players are now playing to stay at the club. That’s the gauntlet I have thrown down.”

Ryan was also keen to share the Main vision for next season, telling the fans “Make sure you’re here next season, because mine and the Chairman’s plan is to give it a real go next season. We are too inconsistent at the moment and that has to change in 2019 and will, mark my words.”

The Gaffer also offered up his thoughts as to where the Division One title is heading this season. “I went to watch Hallam over the festive period and they will be Champions this season, and that’s my aim next year. They’re big and powerful, have a good game plan, and some great individuals backed up by graft. Everything you need.”

Focusing on Saturday’s derby game, Ryan is looking forward to a feisty affair, saying “Tomorrow is derby day and I can’t wait. The extra spice is that we have taken their star player and top scorer. We needed another striker and I knew that Jordan was interested so we got him in.
Armthorpe are on a bad run but that will end, they have some good NCEL players and are hardworking and strong. I feel for Mike at the moment but we have to get 3 points as we’re not out of the woods yet.”

Ryan signed off with a rallying call to the villagers. “I’m hopeful of a massive turn out from our supporters tomorrow, we need everyone behind us going into 2019.”
