Earlier today it was announced that top striker Chris Jackson had signed for NCEL Division One signed Armthorpe Welfare – and this evening EvoStik Premier Division East side Pontefract Collieries have announced that Jackson has also signed for them.
“The club are delighted to announce the return of centre forward Chris Jackson.
Jacko was our joint top scorer in our NCEL Div 1 promotion season and moved out to Australia midway through last year’s title winning season.
Whilst abroad he enjoyed a successful spell with western Australian side Armadale FC who compete in the National Western Australian premier league, finishing as the league’s top scorer.
The management team said of the signing “Once we knew Jacko was returning to England we had a chat with him about the possibility of returning to the club and he was instantly interested in returning. He brings something different to our other forwards so it gives us good options as we head towards an important point of the season. We’re blessed with our forward options and I’m sure Jacko will add good competition to an already talented bunch”
Welcome back to the club Jacko and we look forward to seeing you back in a Colls shirt at Stamford on new years day.”
