JT signs off 2018 in style

Maltby Main moved in to the Premier Division top six thanks to a 4-0 win over bottom placed side Goole, writes Ian Robinson.

Aaron Moxam opened his account for The Miners, but it was his strike partner Jordan Turner who grabbed the headlines with a hat trick against his old club.

TBG managed to grab a few words with JT last night when he told us “I’m buzzing to get the win today and score a hat trick. It’s been a good Xmas for us and hopefully we can keep pushing on into the New Year now. I wish one of my old clubs in Goole all the best for the rest of the season and hope Terry and Matt can change their fortunes.”

Manager Scott Mason added this afternoon, “It’s been a great few weeks for us. We booked a semi-final place in the Hallamshire cup and with two very convincing wins with clean sheets, the feeling around the club is really good.

“Yesterday we started slow but once we started we took full control. Our chances got finished . JT with a great hat trick and Aaron Moxam on his home debut with a good goal.

“We’ve had a few changes in personnel recently with players moving on for one reason or another so we are still trying to get to know each other. But the quality that as come in as just made us a different team going forward and with our defensive record we are all really positive and looking forward to pushing on into 2019.”

Mason signed off by adding, “Hope everyone has had a great Christmas and Happy new year from us all at Maltby Main.”
