Skegness Town, 14th in Toolstation NCEL Division One, will be hoping to get back to winning ways this weekend after consecutive defeats either side of New Year; to do so, though, they’ll have to overcome a Selby Town side who must have wished they had been able to cut and paste their own results during a difficult December, but who emphatically confirmed their sixth place with a thumping win over Shirebrook at Richard Street last weekend; although Lilywhites’ Joint Manager, Nathan Collins is focusing very much on his own players heading into the clash at the Vertigo Stadium.
Speaking to TBG’s Editor Craig Kendall, Nathan told us that he’ll have some reinforcements ahead of the game. “After last week’s defeat (at Dronfield) – and lacklustre performance – we are looking for a reaction from the players. We have a couple of new signings coming in this week as we look to keep building a strong squad.”
Nathan admits that his side has been adversely affected by missing players, but he’s not looking for excuses. “Injuries have disrupted us over the last couple of weeks,” he acknowledged, “but I have never been one to blame injuries or officials.”
“When we lose games, it’s our job as Managers to make sure the squad has strength in depth – and we will do that moving forward.”
