Without a league win since early October and on the back of a heavy defeat at Staveley last week, beleaguered Hall Road Rangers face a six pointer today as 17th placed Thackley visit Haworth Park, writes Ian Robinson.
Rangers boss Bill Gill is not a man to hide though and told us that he expects his team to come out fighting.
“Saturday can’t come quick enough. I’ve felt for the lads all week and I’m sure they will be very keen to put things right. We also have two or three new additions this week that we are trying to make available for the game.”
Thackley have turned a corner in recent months and they have built a good squad that do things right, so it will be a tough test. The game won’t define our season, but as we are playing at home, we need to look to take maximum points.”
As usual, Bill finished with an honest reflection of how things are at present, adding “When you’re rebuilding and going through a transition period, it’s challenging to get results and develop young players at the same time. It’s a balance we are trying to find in the second half of the season.”
