Skegness Town hosted Selby Town yesterday at The Vertigo Stadium and came away with the narrowest of wins – thanks to a cracking 10th minute James Wroot goal.
Joint Skeg Manager, Nathan Collins was delighted to get back to winning ways after last week’s disappointing display. “Really pleased with the lads today, another clean sheet and three points against a good Selby team.”
“The winning goal was worthy of winning any game. I thought the new lads fitted in really well and we have another couple of quality additions due in over the next couple of weeks which can only be good for the group.”
And speaking of winning goals, Wroot kindly spoke to the waiting media afterwards. “Firstly the game today, we dug in really well against a decent side at this level. We’re a very hard working side with some quality players and I think it showed today that we can battle with any team and our quality will get us the results!”
“As far as the season is concerned, I’m loving it at Skegness, the management believe in everyone and it’s a great team to play in and a great club to be at with everyone that’s involved.”
“Everyone wants the same thing and that’s good for the club to keep going forward, and we will!”
