Before yesterday, Goole AFC’s last win in the NCEL Premier Division was back in September with a 4-1 win away against Albion – and it just so happens the same opponents were again defeated – this time 1-0.
A crowd of over 100 spectators witnessed a great team performance cumulating in a Mohammed Hammid second-half finish which settled the tie.
Player-coach Danny Buttle was over the moon with the three points, “Matty [Bloor], Terry [Barwick] and myself couldn’t be any prouder for the lads. Yesterday was a brave, courageous performance in which everyone pulled together.”
“It has been a long time since Goole won at home in a league fixture and the reception we got at the end of the game is the reason why we are involved in football.”
“Same effort and commitment needs to be on display next week at home to Bottesford which will be a tough test.”
