Harworth Colliery stay nineteenth in Toolstation NCEL Division One after Saturday’s 4-0 home defeat to fourth-placed Nostell Miners Welfare – and Manager, Lee Needham struggled to take any positives from his side’s display on the day.
Lee told TBG Editor Craig Kendall, “To be honest I was very disappointed with our performance – I thought that was our worst for a long time. We didn’t press as a team; we lost far too many personal battles and didn’t apply ourselves in the correct manner. I told the lads that’s not acceptable and I won’t accept it again, if we need to bring some players in who will go and fight for the shirt, that’s what we will do.”
“I don’t want to take anything away from Nostell,” Lee added. “They showed why they are on a good run of form, with big strong players who want to go and win the ball. I also want to apologise to the fans; they are always brilliant, but on Saturday we didn’t give them anything to cheer at all. That won’t be happening again, I can assure them of that.”
“I can take been beaten, but I won’t accept poor application and a lack of heart and desire.”
