For the second season in a row, NCEL Division One side Grimsby Borough will be competing in the Lincolnshire Senior Trophy Final after they dispatched Bottesford Town on Tuesday evening 3-0.
A crowd of 78 witnessed a highly competitive game with Keenan McGrath giving Borough a 29th minute lead. Adam Drury nodded home a cross just after the break (55th minute), before Jack Bradbury (78th minute) rounded off a fine performance for The Wilderness Boys.
Joint Manager Daniel Barrett was named on the bench, however we are unsure if he made an appearance or not. “We are very pleased with tonight’s result. The lads that have come in have done superbly.”
“We had six first team lads missing tonight and four academy lads come into the squad. We were dominant for long periods and the lads really deserved the win. Young Keenan McGrath scored a superb header which was pleasing in his first start, coming from our Reserves.”
“Harry Burke created the second and I have to say I am absolutely buzzing for Jack Bradbury to get a superb goal. The lads worked extremely hard to get fit and what a plus he is going to be for us from now till the end of the season.”
“It’s another clean sheet and Liam Higton was quality and made a great save from a penalty. We now go into a hard game on the road Saturday.”
