Bridlington Town, fifth in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division, make the 30-mile trip to Haworth Park on Saturday afternoon to tackle eighteenth-placed Hall Road Rangers – and Seasiders’ Manager, Brett Agnew is wary of both the playing surface and Bill Gill’s players and is expecting to adopt a flexible approach as he hunts down another crucial three points, writes Colin Muncie.
Reflecting on last week’s home draw with Harrogate Railway and on his side’s convincing win in the reverse fixture at the back end of September, Brett told TBG, “Saturday will be a good opportunity for us to get back to winning ways, as long as we don’t take Hall Road lightly and we stick to the game plan. Like the last meeting it’s a derby game and form goes out of the window; their pitch is a bit of a leveller at times, as it can be dreadful to play on – but we just need to have a plan A and B to get us over the line.”
Brett has a high opinion of his opposite number. “Bill has done well with what he has and he keeps bringing good young players through so full credit to him. It’s very difficult to keep getting new players in this area.”
“The Seasiders’ Manager has been happy with his side’s preparation. “The lads have put great shifts in at training this week again,” he told us. “I’m really proud of how far they have come since we took over, they give everything every week and want to do it not only for us but themselves – so hopefully they keep this 4-game unbeaten run going.”
