NCEL Premier Division side Handsworth Parramore have completed the dual registration signing of ex-Barnsley midfielder Alastair Taylor from Evo-Stik Premier Division side Buxton FC.
Their official website says, “Taylor has a wealth of experience he can bring to The Ambers’ despite being only 27 years of age, I’m sure he can help Handsworth push on in our upcoming games!
Alastair started his career at Barnsley where in 2010 he won the Academy Player of the Year, from that he made his first team debut on 24th April 2010 agaisnt QPR, and made another three appearances for the Yorkshire side. While at Barnsley he played on loan for a few clubs including: Worksop Town, Alfreton Town, Gainsborough Trinity and Buxton.
He has made 120 appearances in his career and has never played below the Evo-Stik Premier Division, most of those appearances have been made at Buxton. 86 to be more precise, scoring eight goals in the process.
Taylor can play in a variety of positions. These include: right midfielder, right winger, left midfielder, left winger and centre attacking midfielder. The versatility is perfect for Handsworth as Taylor can just slot in on either flank and provide support/assists for the team.
He did come on as a 78th minute substitute in Saturday’s 1-3 win against Goole AFC and showed some nice touches, he has recently been injured so getting minutes under his belt is vital for Taylor. Once his fitness and match sharpness does return, he will be a great asset to the Handsworth squad.
