As Bottesford Town ready themselves for a trip to Handsworth Parramore this weekend, weather permitting, Head of Media Operations Howard Pirie told TBG, in his own inimitable style, of a cunning plan, writes Ian Robinson.
“It’s make or break month, with 5 away games out of 6, and not an easy game at all. We’ve hit yet another rut so I had a meeting with Corbs last night and issued my demands.
“He’s fully on board, so Saturday will see the first game in the NCEL since 1987 when all our players wear black boots. Everything will fall into place, it’s all about looking good and feeling good. Jack Cross has opted for Puma King’s, Ridley has gone for Adidas World Cup’s and Jack Bowskin has opted for Hi Tec Kings whilst Steve McCarron goes with Umbro Speciali’s. Lewis Bemrose has been dropped to the bench as he’s insisted on wearing his Nike Marigold’s. It’s cost me £1400 but it’s money well spent, these little touches from Bottesford Town’s current Clubman of the Year show the difference between talking the talk and walking the walk. I can’t wait for 5pm on Saturday and a convincing old school win.”
