Worsbrough’s two-month unbeaten streak came to an abrupt end yesterday as they were thumped at Park Road 6-0 to high-flying Winterton Rangers.
Goals from Elliot Broughton, Luke Anderson, Oliver Fisher-Powell, Callum Foster and Paul Grimes saw Rangers storm the first half. Kieran Wressell completed the rout in the opening exchanges of the second period, leaving Worsbrough Manager Lee Morris apoplectic.
“To be honest, I’m still speechless. It was an embarrassing, pathetic performance that lacked guts, and it was the worst performance in the 15 months since when I took over. I didn’t expect that from my team, but that will be the last time this happens, I can promise you that. I will say congratulations to Winterton they were the best team on the day by a mile.”
