BREAKING NEWS! NCEL Division One side announce new Chairman!

It is 2 weeks since the resignation of Peter Schofield as Chairman as Worsbrough Bridge AFC and we are pleased to confirm that Vice Chairman Mark Booth will step up as Club Chairman.

“I am delighted and proud to take on this role and hope to build on the foundations laid by Pete. Pete represented the club as player, Manager and Chairman and alongside Ian Shirt was instrumental in bringing the club back to Barnsley nearly 3 years ago and arguably saved the club in it’s current form. No-one can take away the many hours of hardwork, time and money that Pete invested in the club and I know on behalf of many people I can place on record our sincere thanks to him and Aron Harvey (Treasurer) for their contribution.

“I am excited for the future and firmly believe that the club has one of the best managers in the league in Lee Morris who has assembled an excellent management team of David Taylor and Mark Arundel. Lee has put together a good strong squad of quality players who have this season surpassed all predictions from outsiders and deservedly sit in the top 6 of the league. I know our supporters have been excited with the quality of performances and results and I want to support Lee to continue to build a team that other teams and managers respect and know that they face a tough game when they come up against us.

“I am also want say thank you to our Ladies Manager Gavin Felton and our U12s manager Jason Watkin and his assistant Sean Crowcroft and look forward to working with them for the rest of the season and beyond.

“I am pleased that we have Jammy Johnson in charge of our Development Team and also that former Worsbrough Bridge AFC players Jimmy Whitehead, Ryan Smith, Dean Shirt and Craig Goodyear have agreed to take our U19s team.

“I also want to thank everyone that has supported and volunteered for the club at all levels and also say a massive thanks to every sponsor that has given money to the club this season.

“I believe we can look forward to the future with optimism and would love to hear from anyone that feels they can help to move the club forward.”
