Scholes resigns as Salford’s Director of Football to take up EFL role

National League side Salford City Football Club have just announced that Paul Scholes has accepted the role of Football Manager at Oldham Athletic AFC.

In a statement the club says, “Although Paul was never operational in Salford City he will resign as a director of the football club, allowing him to focus completely on his new role at Oldham.

From the start we have always said that each of the Class of ’92 would offer different levels of commitment dependant on their individual roles. Salford City is a long term interest for the Co92 and Paul will retain his 10% shareholding in the Club.

It is great that Paul is back in football and everyone at the club wishes him all the best in his new venture into football management!”
