Bridlington Town are now riding high in third place in the NCEL Premier Division table after a comfortable 3-0 victory over Goole AFC last night.
An early goal from striker Jake Day settled the nerves but the Seasiders had to wait until late on to seal the win, with Nathan Modest netting a brace in the last few minutes of an entertaining tie.
“I thought we done a really professional job tonight, we knew it wasn’t going to be pretty and that we would have to win ugly and that’s what it came down to really.
“To be fair to Goole they played to their strengths by hitting it to the big lump from set pieces and throw ins and he was very effective, they got a few chances out it and gave as good as they got for long spells.
“After we changed formation and brought some fresh legs on I thought we dictated the game and created alot more chances for ourselves.
“I’m happy that we kept a clean sheet aswell which is a reward for everyone for digging in and battling together.”
