After five straight league wins, Grimsby Borough headed into today’s game against East Yorkshire Carnegie in serious contention for promotion – but a 4-1 defeat and having just 9-men on the field at full-time, Manager Daniel Barrett was fuming with the Referee.
“I am going to have to be very careful in what I say. We have lost the game today and to a very hard working team, events throughout the game have obviously had a hand in today’s result.”
” I am very proud of my players and the hard work they have put in, they really have worked hard until the very last minute. Next week cannot come quick enough.”
“I have waited for roughly 35 minutes after the end of the game to speak to the referee about some decisions. Let’s just we did not agree on a few things and I must have been watching a different game.”
“I am very bored and very tired that this beautiful game has been turned into a game about officials and I am disgusted that we have had to pay £83 English pounds for that in the middle… yes £83.”
“We pick ourselves up and just go on and enjoy our last 11 games of this season.”
