Buttle disappointed with defeat but looking at positives

Last word on the weekend’s NCEL action goes to Danny Buttle and Goole AFC who suffered a 4-1 defeat away at league leaders Penistone Church.

Buttle himself played the full 90 minutes in the defeat and was honest in his reflection. “It was a fairly good performance from us on Saturday. We played well first half but in my view were given a soft penalty just before half time which killed our momentum.”

“Nathan Keightley was excellent for Penistone. He made the difference between both sides. There was some encouraging performances in a Goole shirt with Harry Thompson showing what he is capable of with his range of passing in midfield. Leigh Hutchinson gave his all upfront and a mention for Lewis Stannard who made his first start at this level today and acquited himself well.”
