Collins putting future plans on hold to secure status in NCEL

Just a few weeks ago Skegness Town were in form and looking like a “mid table” side but with just one win since Christmas, they’re now back in the relegation battle.

Tomorrow they face Glasshoughton and Town manager Nathan Collins is expecting a tough encounter. “We are in a relegation battle and need to start picking up points ASAP. It’s something I have never been involved in as a player or in the 10 years I have been a manager so will be a different sort of challenge.”

“I came to Skegness for the long term project at a club that is all geared up for EvoStik football and very ambitious but all that needs to be put to one side until we get a few more points on the board.”

“We have a great bunch of lads and for some of them it’s their first season at this level and after losing some key players through injury we as a group have found the last few weeks tough.”

“Myself and Nick have been working tirelessly behind the scenes and I’m 100% confident we can get the points required and then we can start planning for some exciting times ahead, a win tomorrow would be a great starting point.”
