Worsbrough ran out 5-1 winners on Saturday, their biggest win of the campaign and Manager Lee Morris, was fair to say, elated.
“Best performance of the season. People will say I’m biased but some of the football we played yesterday was outstanding and was miles above the level we are playing and there should have been more then five in the end.”
“Midweek games are always going to be hard for a club like us with players working and with the smallest budget in the league. We can say a lot to the lads when they can’t make the games, so it was important we bounced back after the Winterton loss. We have to put these kind of performances on every Saturday, because if we do we can beat anyone.”
“Up to 52 points now, not many outside our dressing room would have predicted that at start of season, so we are enjoying upsetting one or two.”
Kieran Hirst bagged two goals and was thrilled, “I thought we were quality today, all over the park and bossed the game from the first whistle.”
“Obviously delighted to get two goals, the second was great football in the lead up to it. Disappointed to concede a sloppy goal, but all in all, thought the lads were brilliant and a great reaction from Wednesday night!”
However, Kyle Wordsworth went one better netting a hat-trick, his first of the campaign. “Lee set us up to press from the off and to go out and get goals. Happy to get my first hat-trick but credit should go out to the team.”
“Their work ethic from the beginning was brilliant and carried on until the final whistle. Despite the pitch not being 100%, we were still adamant on playing football rather than the long ball. Very happy with the result and ready to crack on for the rest of the season.”
