STOCKS: “It’s weird saying this – but we’re in good form despite losing two games!”

Swallownest – and the Bootiful Game – head North on the M18 for a Toolstation NCEL League Cup Quarter Final tie with Selby Town at the Fairfax Plant Hire Stadium on Tuesday evening. It’s been an encouraging – yet frustrating – period for the men from Rotherham Road after two excellent performances against promotion contenders in successive Division One fixtures; but the same could be said for Christian Fox’s Robins, which makes for a great game on Richard Street tomorrow night, according to Swallownest Manager Jordan Stocks, writes Colin Muncie.

Reflecting on those two defeats and the performances behind them, Jordan’s glass is definitely half-full, as he told TBG. “After Saturday’s defeat we look to push on into our League Cup Quarter Final tie at Selby Town. As always it will be a tough tie and they will be looking to put their weekend performance behind them. It’s weird saying this – but we’re in good form despite losing two games. Tomorrow, though, I’ll gladly take a scrappy victory to take us through to the semi-final!”

“It will be tough – but we are looking strong and the lads are fighting for shirts.”
