On the Stocks…

Speaking to the club website and match day programme, Swallownest Manager Jordan Stocks shares his frustrationthatafter two fine displays, against promotion chasers, the team end up without any reward; about the return of a key squad member this weekend; and tells us that he’s been taking note of FC Bolsover’s fantastic recent run, writes Margaret Gregory.

Jordan, the weather caused the NCEL League Cup Quarter Final at Selby booked for Tuesday 12thMarch to be re-arranged for Tuesday 19thMarch, so you will try again then to book a place in the Semi-Finals. You must be really delighted by the way the team played against Grimsby Borough at home, and away at Hallam, but really frustrated to get nothing from either game. What’s your take on both matches?

JSOf course I’m frustrated as football is a results-based industry. I love the way we are playing and we are getting headlines for it – but would I swap performances for points? Yes, most definitely! We need to get a mix of both and obviously a bit of luck here and there.

You’ll have Ash Cooper back for the FC Bolsover game -how is the rest of the squad shaping up ahead of Saturday?

JS Coops is a big player and a big character for us so having him available for selection is a real bonus. We have real strength in depth so we will be having a hard job of selecting a squad.

Since the middle of December, Bolsover have only lost two of eleven games, to Grimsby Borough and Campion, and they came off the bottom of the Division for the first time last Saturday. It was a hard-fought 2-2 draw at Langwith Road in January, too. What are you expecting from them on Saturday?

JSBolsover are in brilliant form and fair play to them they’ve deservedly climbed up off the bottom. It was a weird one when we played them away as we didn’t play bad but didn’t play well and got a point! I’m expecting a tough game and we will need to match the desire and fight of a team struggling at the bottom. If we do, I’m confident we will be finishing up with 3 points.
