Last word on this weekend’s action comes from David Ricardo and Barton Town as they narrowly defeated Bridlington Town 1-0 thanks to a Will Waudby goal mid-way through the first half.
“I felt Saturday’s win was coming for a while. We haven’t being playing badly as such just lacking that cutting-edge in forward positions. I think if you asked any team we have played they will know they’ve been in for a game win, lose or draw.
“To be able to beat a physically strong Bridlington side you have to put work them and the players have done that. I am particularly pleased for Will Waudby who was unfairly in my opinion red carded in the reverse fixture early in the game so to go and score the winner against his old club should make the lad feel as proud as can be.”
“In terms of the season as a whole we have taken points off all of the top 5 clubs but lie 12th which tells its own story. We know where we should be doing better at and we will continue to work hard in order to progress.”
“A special thanks must go to James Bennet and Sid for all their hard work with the players week in, week out. Wins such as this week wouldn’t be possible without their input.”
