With only 7 games of the NCEL Division One season left for FC Bolsover to complete the great escape, Manager Matthew Chatfield knows that Tuesday’s trip to Glasshoughton is crucial to coming back with some more points on the board.
“We can’t wait to be back on the grass after 17 days without a game and get back to business as we are away to Glasshoughton. I feel the game can go either way because of our long wait from the last game.”
“We can either be all revitalised or completely rusty. I feel all this depends on our application to the game and how quick we can get back into it. The lads know how important our last handful of games are, and I know one thing, and that is they will give 100% come Tuesday to get the result.”
Whilst Glasshoughton Joint Manager Lee Vigars is anticipating a tough night ahead. “Another big test for our boys on Tuesday night when Bolsover visit looking for the three points to help them towards safety. Their recent form has been outstanding – winning the last 3 games including a superb 3-0 win over Campion. It was probably the result against us back in December that kick started their season.”
“We lost 3-2 that day and were a distance second in all departments to be fair. We know they’ll come here and leave everything out there again so unless we match their enthusiasm, work rate and commitment it’s going to be a long night for us.”
“We’ll be looking to build on our strong performance against Nostell last Friday and look to rectify our poor results against the teams in the bottom half. That’s been a real problem all season, but with just 6 games to go we want to finish well with as many points as we possibly can.”
