BARRETT: “Every point is obviously vital at this stage and we need to keep performing!”

As we approach the business end of the season, Daniel Barrett’s Grimsby Borough are still leading the pack in the race for the Division One title writes Ian Robinson, but they cannot afford any slip ups between now and the end of the season as Campion sit only three points behind with two games in hand.

The Wilderness Boys, who have never hit the heights of the NCEL Premier Division, welcome 6th placed Worsbrough Bridge Athletic to The Bradley Centre tomorrow, and Daniel is looking forward to the game against difficult opponents. “We had a week off last week and the lads needed it as we have a busy period coming up and hopefully that has recharged the batteries.”

“I had an old Uni friend at the Worsborough vs Hallam game in midweek and he was impressed with how hard they worked and how they set up, and said that they should have been 4-0 up at half-time. Anybody who can do that to Hallam has to be respected. To help in their quest for the title, Daniel told us that Borough are looking to add to their ranks imminently.”

“Every point is obviously vital at this stage and we need to keep performing. Andy and myself have been busy over the last few weeks and hopefully that hard work will pay off. We will hopefully have a great signing sorted later today and they will be going straight into Saturday’s squad.”
