4th placed Nostell Miners Welfare look to extend their unbeaten run to twelve games when they face Selby Town at Crofton tomorrow, but Manager Jason Dodsworth acknowledges that automatic promotion is now out of their hands, writes Ian Robinson.
“If we want to have a chance of winning this league we must win our last seven games and hope others slip up. That’s our aim, but it’s not in our hands.”
“No matter what happens though, this season has been a massive improvement on and off the field for Nostell and our players have done us proud. We will have one final push now and see where we finish.”
“Selby are a good team and we’re going to have to improve on our performance against Glasshoughton massively. The lads know this and will be keen to go and get the win. Whatever happens I think we’re in for a cracking finish to the season.”
A victory tomorrow would see Nostell well on course to create a piece of history as three points would equal their best ever points tally in the NCEL, achieved in the Premier Division back in the 2007/2008 season.
