Just two points separate East Yorkshire Carnegie and today’s visitors Ollerton Town, but their recent form couldn’t be more different, writes Ian Robinson.
Whilst Carnegie can boast three wins from their last four games, Ollerton have taken just 2 points from the last 18 available, with their most recent victory being the 3-2 defeat of Carnegie last month.
Despite that, EYC Manager Leon Sewell told TBG that he has a lot of respect for the men on the opposition’s bench. “I’ve got a lot of respect for Dave Winter and Steve Bodle, they’ve stuck together for many a year and run the club in the best way possible, as many a club do with limited resources. They have had some tough ties recently along with midweek games and will be looking to put their wrongs right against us.”
Leon confirmed that he has a full roster available for the game and is hoping his side can build on their recent good run, adding, “it will be nice to be back on home soil and I’m sure it’ll be a great game. I’ll have a headache selection on Saturday lunch time as we’ll welcome a couple of players back into the squad; having trained on Thursday evening with just about everyone present.”
“Last weekend’s victory away at Worsbrough Bridge will only mean something if we put in the right performance collectively as a side, but come 3:00pm the EYC lads will be ready and raring to go.”
