Ricardo pleased with clean sheet as push for top 10 continues

It could not have been a more mid-table game if they tried on Saturday as 12th played 11th at the Easy Buy Stadium, as Barton Town ran out 2-0 winners against Eccleshill United.

A goal in either half (Will Waudby ‘2, Matthew Plummer ’65), settled the tie as The Swans hope to break into the top 10 by the end of the season. “It wasn’t a classic NCEL game and it had a touch of end of season feel to it, which I’m not a big fan of, but in the first-half we played some good stuff in the main and did enough to keep a clean sheet.”

“Second full credit them as they showed a bit more conviction to get on the ball, but again we defended well. Our two lads up top put a real shift in and caused problems for the majority of the game which I haven’t been able to say many times this season, so it was pleasing to see.”

“It sets us up for another physical game against Maltby on Tuesday night at home.”
