Grimsby Borough lost their Lincs Senior Trophy last night on penalties to Deeping Rangers 4-3 after a valiant effort on a difficult pitch.
Manager Daniel Barrett wasn’t too dismayed at the result, “The game was ok. I think both teams played with the safety catch on to be honest. Neither side had that cutting edge – there were a few poor chances missed on both parts.”
“We should have won the game really, but unfortunately their ‘keeper guessed correctly and saved Debbos penalty.”
“We have to hold our heads up and say we more than competed against a very good side from the league above, who have had a very good season.”
“These boys will kick on again now and we really look forward to Saturday. It was another 90 mins with another clean sheet.”
